OCTOBER 2005

After attending a dog show in Philadelphia, I flew to Paris via Miami. Then I flew to Nice on EasyJet to pick up a rental car. Driving from Nice to Italy can be pleasent if you can avoid the Genova interchange. The autostrada is narrow, many curves ,with a lot of big delivery trucks. It is possible to drive from Nice into Italy along the Mediterrean coast. I arrived in Vitulano for vendemmia. I picked grapes and made wine with my cousin, Salvatore. Afterwards, I drove north along the Adriatic to visit another cousin in Porto San Giorgio, located in Le Marche. With my maps and cameras, I drove the backroads of Le Marche. Heading back to Nice, I travelled to Orvieto, Lago Bolsena, and Siena (quick visit).

When in Nice, I usually just visit along the coast. This time I drove north of Nice, visiting a couple of small villages. I had lunch at Restaurant Edelweiss located about 40 kilometers north of Nice.
